Dine With A Designer

During my final year at University I came up with a concept for a table cloth design, the project gave me the opportunity to combine my two passions sewing and graphic design, 'Dine With A Designer'

The grid system and print marks are controlled to reinforce this concept and mimic the view a graphic designer perceives on screen each day. Each product consists of three main grid systems, with each system having a specific colour. These colours borrowed from the screen environment are then associated with the alternative dinner settings and meal times throughout the day.

This is an example of the way in which the grid system is applied. The grid system has also been applied to the packaging to reinforce the concept.

The catalogue consists of information on each product, alongside size guides and an order form for the customers. Each design can be personalized to individual colours schemes.

Hussein Chalayan

First year project (and still on of my favourite pieces) to create promotional material for the unconventional fashion designer Hussein Chalayan. The limnitation given was that no models could be used. To incorporate the style of Chalayan work i came up with the conceptm of screen printing onto perspex. Producing an installation for the poster, thus creating depth within the pieces in relation to Chalayan's style of work.

For the accompanying promotional material I created flyers and a booklet. To create continuity with these pieces I chose to print these onto acetate to mimic the style of the perspex posters.

This is one of my favourite project. It was an ISTD competiton piece the project was based on type in the enviroment. Examining hidden type in the enviroment I created a series of three posters. Each poster has an embossed letter which altogether spells 'Words.' The poster all have their own unique quote that ties in with the concept of hidden type.

Mamma Knows Best

Another first year project, Mamma Knows Best was my first attempt of designing packaging. The concept was to design products for a Hypochondriacs Pharmacy. Focusing on the anxieties of first time parents, the dummies where based on old fashioned remedies.

Dementia

First year project set by D&AD. It was a photograohy competition piece based on the effects of Dementia. My aim was to recreate a differential view portraying life through suffers eye.

Why Not Associates

Brief set by 'Why Not Associates . The brief given was to produce an A2 silkscreen poster and a publication, based on the concept of 'Forcing Chance'. Which entailed interviewing a person of your choice whom you would have been least likely to ever meet.

I interviewed a teaching assistant whom regularly volunteers in third world countries. Speaking passionately about her travels she preached about the importance of things we take for granted. My piece focuses on the importance of 'A Piece Of Paper'. The poster folds down into the publication to reinforce the value of a piece of paper in our daily lives.

The Body Shop Campaign

This is my final pieces for The Body Shop campaign brief set by D&AD. The brief was to create an unconventional brand campaign reinstating The Body Shops position of the original founders of ethical beauty. I can up with idea of 'Let Life Be Your Label', which means that you should let your life define who you are not the thing you buy but the people you meet and what you achieve. The images basically depict everyday life but with the use of the labels its shows you a hidden meaning and less ethical option used by other companies, by labelling the people and situation. The posters then go on to show how The Body Shop has the solution to the ethical promblem.
